Job Description
Until now, OPF's Director has managed the business's bookkeeping alongside all other management responsibilities. This role changes that.
The Accounts Officer will take full ownership of OPF's financial operations — from daily transaction processing through to financial reporting and statutory compliance — freeing the Director to focus on business development, export readiness, and R&D.
The Accounts Officer exists to give OrganicPlus Fiji the financial backbone it needs to grow with confidence.
Specifically, this role:
- Takes ownership of all day-to-day financial operations: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliation, removing this burden from the Director entirely.
- Ensures OPF meets all statutory obligations on time, including VAT lodgments and FNPF contributions, protecting the business from compliance risk and penalties.
- Establishes and maintains the financial records, asset register, and loan monitoring systems that give OPF clear visibility of its financial position at all times.
- Leads the migration of OPF's accounting from its current Excel and Manager.io environment to MYOB, coordinating with the external accounting firm to ensure a clean and accurate transition.
- Produces monthly financial reports with an Observations & Flags commentary; transforming raw data into actionable insight for the Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll
- VAT & FNPF Lodgments/Compliance
- Asset Register
- Loan Monitoring
- Financial Reporting & Observations
- System Migration; Excel to MYOB
- Filing, Administration & Governance
As OPF grows toward international licensing and export, the financial infrastructure you build in this role becomes a prerequisite for those opportunities. Strong performers will grow with the business — with expanded responsibility, increased remuneration, and internal promotion as OPF scales.
OrganicPlus Fiji is building something genuinely different — and this role is central to how we get there. If you are a detail-oriented, analytically minded finance professional who wants to grow with a business and not just maintain it, we want to hear from you.
Requirements
Essential
- A tertiary qualification or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Demonstrated experience in a bookkeeping, accounts officer, or similar financial administration role — ideally in a small-to-medium business environment.
- Competency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of Fiji's VAT and FNPF obligations for employers.
- Proficiency in at least one accounting software platform; experience with MYOB, Manager.io, or a comparable system strongly preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills — comfortable with data management, formulas, and basic financial summaries.
- Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated track record of accuracy in financial records.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise competing deadlines, and manage a full accounts function without day-to-day supervision.
Desirable
- Part-qualification or enrolment in CPA Fiji, ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting programme.
- Experience managing accounts for a manufacturing, agriculture, or product distribution business.
- Familiarity with fixed asset registers and depreciation accounting.
- Prior experience in a MYOB environment or demonstrated ability to migrate between accounting platforms.
- Experience preparing or supporting the preparation of VAT returns and statutory payroll filings.
- An analytical mindset — someone who reads financial data and asks 'what does this mean?' rather than simply recording it.
- Comfortable communicating financial information clearly and simply to a non-finance Director.
A detailed role brief (ToR) will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
About Organic Plus (Fiji) Pte Ltd
OrganicPlus Fiji (OPF) is a Fiji-registered agri-business that develops and manufactures high-performance biological farming inputs — including a proprietary Liquid Compost bio-stimulant — made 100% in Fiji and designed specifically for South Pacific farming conditions. Now in its fourth year of operation, OPF has established a proven product, a growing base of farmers with real documented results, and a social media following of over 47,000 — a significant platform for a Fiji-based agri-business.
OPF is entering an exciting expansion phase — new packaging, upgraded manufacturing, and the appointment of two key roles. Our mission is straightforward: give South Pacific farmers a biological farming input system that is easy to use, works fast, and comes with real human support and agronomic guidance in their own language. We are building something no competitor in this space currently offers.
